St.
Victor's Catholic Church serves the residents of West Hollywood
and the sourrounding areas of Los Angeles. Founded
in 1906, it is the oldest institution in West Hollywood.
St.
Victor's Parish serves a diverse and cosmopolitan community. We
welcome all, regardless of race, nationality, gender or sexual orientation.
Members of the community who were not raised in the Catholic tradition
are also welcome to visit and learn more about our faith, and those
who are not now practicing their Catholic faith will also find a
welcoming environment in which to reacquaint themselves with their
heritage. We maintain a proactive program of outreach
to the local gay and lesbian community, and provide the region with
an AIDS memorial chapel.
An
exceptional choir, one of the best
in Southern California, complements our 10:30 a.m. Sunday liturgy
and is accompanied by an orchestra on special occasions. Our organ
is considered one of the finest such instruments in the archdiocese
of Los Angeles.
We
are committed to serve the poor and outcast. We
feed dozens of poor people every day and conduct food and clothing
drives at various times throughout the year.
We
are an urban community of faith, striving to serve the Lord and
live the gospel according to our ancient Catholic tradition.
