We seek to follow the Lord and live the good news--the gospel--according to our ancient Catholic tradition. We welcome all, regardless of race, nationality, gender, socio-economic class or sexual orientation. We believe in the power of the gospel to transform our lives and society around us, even in the most cosmopolitan of settings. We are a city on a hill. We are the light of the world. We are the salt of the earth.

We are located in West Hollywood and serve residents of that city and the surrounding areas of Los Angeles. We are pleased to offer an outstanding music program to complement our liturgy. We provide more than 1,000 meals each month to the poor and homeless. We seek to serve the outcast of society, those marginalized through economic status, social disapproval or any kind of discrimination. God does not discriminate.

We invite you to join us in our service to God and neighbor, especially those in our midst who are shunned by the rest of society. All are welcome at St. Victor's.

Come home to St. Victor's.

West Hollywood Area Parish Cluster: Four Westside Catholic parishes are working together to share resources and coordinate schedules in order to serve you better. Please feel free to participate in liturgies and programs at Good Shepherd Church (Beverly Hills), St. Ambrose Church (West Hollywood), St. Mary Magdalen Church (West Los Angeles) or St. Victor. What's New at St. Victor's:

DISCIPLESHIP
Every Second Thursday in the Parish Hall 8-9pm
"The program helps unmarried people develop their relationship with God through contemplation. An important aspect of this formation is enhancing the skills that help people to encounter God's calling in their lives, not only in life-changing events but also in the routine choices they make everyday, so there is a greater conformity with the will of God. An essential part of this formational process is the individual's growth and development as a member of a committed community."

LANDINGS
A Parish Ministry for Reconciling Inactive Catholics

LANDINGS is a program designed to welcome back inactiive Catholics. It gives them a place to air their grievances or find the support and guidance they need to take the next difficult step. It consists of eight weekly sessions (1 session per week, 1 1/2 hrs.) in which participants gather together with active Catholics. They share stories and are renewed in the beliefs as stated in the Creed. It ends with a reconciliation retreat for all participants.

Here is a sample meeting schedule of contemporary Catholice themes:

Week 1:  What is your concept of God?
Week 2:  Why follow Jesus?
Week 3:  What is Church? Why the Catholic Church?
Week 4:  Eucharist-What do we celebrate here?
Week 5:  Sin and forgiveness - holding on, letting go.
Week 6:  Single - chosen lifestyle, divorced, widowed, ordained.
Week 7:  Suffering, Illness, Death, Resurrection.
Week 8:  Any additional topics of interest - for example: Saints,Purgatory, Justice, Equality, Change.

Monsignor Jeremiah Murphy

Dear Friends,
The whole Christian life can be summed up very simply in this idea: to follow Jesus Christ all our days even through death, until we share in His glorious resurrection.

That is what the Church calls us to remember and what the mystery of the liturgy enables us to bring into our lives through the celebration of Lent and Holy Week.

The priests at Saint Victor’s pray that this spiritual pilgrimage we have shared will truly advance us along the road to eternal life as we try the mysteries we have celebrated.

Monsignor Jeremiah T. Murphy
Monsignor George J. Parnassus
Reverend John Caronan, O.Praem
