Eucharistic Ministers, also known as Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion, are lay people who have been assigned to distribute the Eucharist in certain circumstances. At St. Victor Church, altar servers and other lay people assist the priests in distributing communion during Mass and bring holy communion to the sick and elderly who cannot attend Mass.
Both men and women can perform this important function. St. Victor parishioners also make up a large segment of the volunteer lay chaplains at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, bringing the Eucharist to patients and hospital staff. To find out more about becoming an Eucharistic Minister at St. Victor, please contact Monsignor Murphy at (310) 652-6477.
